I did a lot of reading this year and was happily surprised to reflect on all that I accomplished creatively this year, as it felt like a lighter writing year for me.

Writing Publications:
I had poems appear in: Across the Margin, The Prose Poem, Libre, Periwinkle Pelican, Roi Fainéant, New English Review, The Jarfly Magazine, Ligeia Magazine, and Bronzebird Books.
A personal essay on mental health appeared in Emerge Literary Journal.
Photography Publications:
My photograph appeared as the cover photo for the Iowa Poetry Association’s yearly anthology, Lyrical Iowa 2024.
Unstamatic published one of my photographs on their website.
The Iowa State Fair exhibited one of my photos. This year only 26% of photos submitted to adult color photography were selected for exhibition.
Acceptances:
Querencia Press accepted my chapbook, Bandaged.

Community:
I joined my local library board.
I took on the role of student liaison at the Iowa Poetry association, in addition to my role as a local county representative.
I continued at Bracken Magazine, transiting from poetry reader to assistant poetry editor.
I had the honor of blurbing Odette Augstine’s poetry collection, Of Elderberry, Fire, and & Fables, which appeared on the book's back cover.
Events:
Was hosted by Barnes & Noble, Three Bells Books, Beaverdale Books, and Sweet Reads for author events. My books were added to the shelves at all of these stores as well as Dog Earred Books!
I spoke at an event about incorporating poetry in the classroom.
I led my first generative poetry workshop.

I was interviewed twice on the radio by John Busbee of the Culture Buzz, which went out on Des Moines airwaves.
